Appointment Process
Call us to schedule an appointment! Our team will guide you through the process with care and expertise to help you to make the right decision about your child's care.

Initial Evaluation
During your first visit, one of our licensed SLPs will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your child's speech and language abilities. This evaluation helps us create a customized treatment plan for you.

Follow-Up Care
After your initial evaluation, we will work closely with you to tailor your child's appointments to fit your schedule and make any necessary adjustments to your therapy plan. Your success is our priority.

Rachel
Rachel Moon is a speech-language pathologist serving the pediatric population of Northern Virginia and Maryland. Rachel started her speech therapy journey working in early intervention outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While working in early intervention, she gained experience practicing community-based therapy and working with families of children aged 2-4 years old with various speech and language disorders. She moved to Virginia in 2019 and has worked at multiple pediatric private practice clinic settings seeing children from 12 months-21 years of age in both Virginia and Maryland. While working in pediatric clinics, Rachel has treated children with various disorders including Childhood Apraxia of Speech, articulation disorders, fluency disorders, Autism, Down Syndrome, AAC, receptive and expressive language disorders, and pragmatic language disorders. She believes that family members should be included in the treatment of their child and that their involvement is a major factor in treatment outcomes. ​ Remedy Speech Therapy provides speech and language intervention in schools and daycares in multiple cities across northern Virginia and Maryland.  Openings currently available!

Victoria
Victoria received her Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Misericordia University in 2020. Victoria grew up along the Jersey Shore with her parents and two dogs. She began her career working in New Jersey public school systems as well as a multidisciplinary clinic providing diagnostic services and intervention to neurodivergent and neurotypical populations. Victoria has experience working with children grades PreK-8 addressing speech and language concerns in areas of articulation, receptive and expressive language, assistive and augmentative communication (AAC), fluency and pragmatic language disorders. In Summer of 2022, Victoria made the move to Alexandria, Virginia to embark on a new adventure with Remedy Speech Therapy. Victoria enjoys providing engaging, interactive and effective speech and language therapy to pediatric and young adult populations in the private practice setting. She is a lifelong learner who emphasizes the sensory and emotional needs of patients to promote regulation and an optimal learning environment. In her free time, Victoria enjoys yoga, tennis, hiking, swimming and listening to live music.

Safari
Safari is a speech language pathologist licensed in Maryland and Virginia. She received her bachelors of Arts in Family and Child Studies from Montclair State University and her Masters of Arts degree in Speech Language Pathology from Kean University. Safari has worked primarily in pediatrics since receiving her Masters degree in 2019 and has experience in settings such as pediatric outpatient facilities, telehealth, early intervention and public elementary, middle and high schools (ages 0-21). Safari has experience working addressing speech and language concerns in areas of articulation, assistive and augmentative communication (AAC), receptive and expressive language, voice, fluency and pragmatic language disorders. In her free time Safari enjoys a variety of forms of exercise, playing ukulele and spending time with family.

Belinda
Lindy is a proud ‘Double Duke’, receiving both her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from James Madison University. Lindy is an ASHA, Virginia, and Maryland licensed CCC-SLP with clinical experiences including a pediatric private practice, interdisciplinary outpatient pediatric clinic, an adult inpatient rehabilitation hospital, and university clinic serving both adults and children. Her clinical interests include early intervention, stuttering and fluency, and speech-sound disorders. She has received various trainings, including Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT). Lindy is most excited to get to build meaningful relationships with your child and family! In her free time, Lindy loves cooking new and childhood-favorite recipes, eating at nearby restaurants, and visiting her family in Delaware and Texas.

Caitlin
Caitlin earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Sociology from the University at Buffalo and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from Buffalo State University. She then began her SLP career providing in-person therapy and teletherapy to both elementary and middle school students in the public education system. Here, she implemented evidence-based interventions to address articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency, pragmatics, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) while working with students in the general education and special education setting (including classrooms for Self-Contained Autism, Mild/Moderate/Severe Intellectual Disabilities). Caitlin has a passion for providing children with client-centered tools for success while utilizing play-based therapy and incorporating individual interests. She values the input of each family in order to promote functional and meaningful communication and in turn impact their child’s daily lives. Caitlin grew up near the Adirondacks and has an affinity for hiking, camping, and simply hanging up a hammock and appreciating nature. She is excited to have opened a new chapter by joining Remedy Speech Therapy and looks forward to meeting you!

Morgan
Morgan is a speech-language pathologist who is currently licensed in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. She attended James Madison University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Morgan has been serving the pediatric population in the private practice setting since graduating from JMU in 2021. She has experience treating children ages 1 to 21 with various speech, language, and developmental disorders including articulation disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, pragmatic language disorders, fluency disorders, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and childhood apraxia of speech. She enjoys collaborating with families and other professionals in order to provide comprehensive and individualized therapy to each child and promote carryover of skills across environments. In her free time, Morgan enjoys baking, spending time outdoors, and going to concerts and sporting events with friends and family.

Jennifer
Jennifer Scott is a licensed pediatric speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of experience helping children develop strong communication skills. She has worked in private practice, schools, outpatient clinics, and teletherapy, supporting children with speech sound disorders, language delays, childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering, dyslexia, and social communication challenges. She has extensive experience working with children with neurodiversity including Autism and ADHD, as well as Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental and acquired disabilities. Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Hawaii before going on to earn master’s degrees in both Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Central Florida as well as a master’s of education from Loyola University in Maryland. She strongly believes in a child-led, family-centered approach, believing that parent education and guided practice of target skills are key to success. In addition to her clinical expertise, Jennifer has a strong background in education, having taught in various classroom and homeschool settings and provided individualized instruction across all subject areas. She is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and previously worked as an interpreter, allowing her to support children with diverse communication needs. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys social dancing, cooking, crafting, gardening, and spending time with her two teenagers. She is passionate about making therapy engaging, effective, and meaningful for every child she works with.

Lindsay
Lindsay Miller is a pediatric speech-language pathologist with over 12 years of clinical experience. She is licensed to serve clients in both Virginia and Maryland. Lindsay received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Pennsylvania State University, and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the George Washington University. Lindsay has primary experience working in a specialized day school setting, serving individuals with intellectual, behavioral, and emotional needs. She has also worked in pediatric private practice, serving elementary and middle school age clients. Lindsay has worked with children, adolescents and young adults with a variety of developmental and acquired disabilities including autism, intellectual disability, emotional disability, traumatic brain injury, and Down Syndrome. She has treated clients with diagnoses including apraxia of speech and other motor speech disorders; literacy disorders; voice disorders; articulation disorders; fluency disorders; and receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language disorders. Lindsay has collaborated with families and other professionals to ensure carryover of learned communication skills, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. She has received various trainings, including Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT). In the school setting, Lindsay has advocated for her students to ensure they received the necessary SLP services. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys cycling, baking, and gardening, as well as passing on these interests to her two young children!

Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn is a clinical fellow speech-language pathologist, currently licensed in Virginia and Maryland. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Exceptional Education from James Madison University, and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University. Kaitlyn has clinical experience in an interdisciplinary pediatric program, a private practice, and her university clinic serving both children and adults. She has experience treating children of all ages addressing speech, language, and developmental disorders including articulation, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, assistive and augmentative communication (AAC), and autism spectrum disorder. Kaitlyn is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of the clients and families she serves. In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys cooking, reading, and going on walks with her dogs.

Alex
Alex is a speech-language pathologist licensed in Virginia and Maryland. She received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University and has worked in private practice and preschool settings. Alex has experience treating children ages 1–16 with a variety of developmental and acquired disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, Down syndrome, and traumatic brain injury. She supports children with disorders in articulation, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, fluency, receptive and expressive language, and social pragmatics. Alex is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) therapy and enjoys combining evidence-based strategies with playful, child-led activities to make sessions fun, motivating, and meaningful. She believes progress happens best when therapy goals carry over into daily life, so she collaborates closely with parents and care teams to make therapy practical and personalized. Having recently moved to the area, Alex is excited to meet new families and build lasting relationships within the community. In her free time, Alex enjoys baking, doing yoga, reading, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
Meet Our Occupational Therapists!

Tara
Tara is a licensed Occupational Therapist originally from Florida, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University and her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Tara brings four years of experience working in the pediatric setting, supporting children from 3 months to 21 years old across a wide range of developmental stages and needs. In October 2025, Tara relocated to Virginia and joined the team at Remedy Speech Therapy, where she is excited to help build the occupational therapy program. She is passionate about empowering children to reach their fullest potential through meaningful, client-centered interventions that support both developmental progress and independence. Tara is certified in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) Introductory Level B, a therapeutic technique that uses specific movement patterns to promote motor development and improve strength, balance, and coordination in children with motor delays or neurological conditions. She believes in building strong, collaborative relationships with families and creating therapy sessions that are engaging, functional, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths and challenges. In her free time, Tara enjoys doing pilates, exploring local coffee shops, and spending time outside.

Sharon
Sharon Shaffer, M.Ed., is a passionate educator with over 23 years of experience in teaching and tutoring across private and public school settings. Sharon holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Special Education (K–12) from George Mason University, and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Strayer University. Throughout her career, Sharon has been driven by a heart-centered approach to education—empowering students with the tools they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom. Sharon specializes in supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive environments where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow.
